Forensic Hypnosis –UP DATE

Forensic Hypnosis is admissible in all 50 states (ruling by the
United States Supreme Court in the ROCK case
) when used by
defense attorneys with defendants.
This training class will
provide an accelerated overview and expand the professional’s
pre-existing knowledge and skills on the forensic application of
hypnosis in the legal arena.
This training will enable you to consult
in both criminal and civil cases where hypnosis was utilized to
enhance recall with victims and witnesses to crime as well as the
use of hypnosis to assist in the reconstruction of events in
personal injury litigations. Other areas to be covered are the legal
aspects, prerequisites for admissibility,
cases where investigative
hypnosis was misused by well-meaning psychologists in the
mental health field, memory retrieval, information eliciting
techniques, the use of neutral non-leading questions, mental
health resolutions and rebuttal, defense strategy and you as a
consulting expert, plus much more.

documented experience in using Forensic Hypnosis with victims
and witnesses of crimes.
Upon completion, attendees will be able
to review, analyze and evaluate an investigative hypnosis interview
to identify appropriate/inappropriate techniques and procedures.

Inspector Marx Howell, retired Texas State Police is one of the
foremost authorities on the Forensic Application of Hypnosis
with victims and witnesses of crime.
He is a graduate of the
FBI National Academy, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Criminal Justice, and served in the United States Marine Corps.
He started his career as a state trooper in the Traffic Law
Enforcement Division and promoted through the ranks to
Captain in the Criminal Law Enforcement Division and then to
Inspector. Marx holds a Master Police Officer Certification and
is a T.C.O.L.E. approved Law Enforcement Instructor. He has 57
years of police experience
and 40 years documented experience
in using Forensic Hypnosis with victims and witnesses of crimes.
He was instrumental in setting up the formalized Texas State Police
Hypnosis Program and coordinated testimony before the
legislature to establish mandatory training, testing, and
certification of police officers that use hypnotic interviewing
technique. Texas is the only state in the USA to establish such
requirements. He is a court recognized Subject Matter Expert in
Forensic Hypnosis.
