Ideomotor (also refered to as ideo-dynamic) is a powerful memory search technique for information stored below conscious awareness. Ideomotor signals are physical gestures that can be prompted by subconscious responses. Erickson used naturalistic body movements while Cheek and LaCron used the more highly structured approach, ideomotor finger signaling for memory search of past events. Hypnotists and Therapists have used this technique to identify painful or traumatic events/material which may be creating emotional conflict in their client. The technique has been successfully used by Law Enforcement on occasions to refresh a witness’s or victim’s recall for license numbers and other information in criminal cases. Dr. William S. Kroger M.D., in 1976 used the ideomotor finger signaling technique with bus driver Ed Ray to retrieve the license numbers in the infamous Chowchilla kidnapping case of the 26 school students. The Chevreul Pendulum technique is akin to the ideomotor finger signaling technique. Let these presenters share with you the specific process of using the Ideomotor Finger Signaling Technique which he has utilized for the past 35 years with victims and witnesses of crime.
